As per the title really? I'm looking to stripdown and rebuild an engine with power gains in mind. It's something i've never done, a 940 is cheap enough (well, when my dad decides to sell his to me ) and if it goes wrong a new engine can't be too expensive.

Anyway, i dont know what the stock power figure is for a 2 litre turbo manual? The aim is to build something with a decent amount of power that i can enter some drift days with when im a bit older. However if possible i'd still liek to be able to track day it too. basically, i have a 306 XSi as my pretty car with all the sounds and good looks, i want a 940 turbo for some fun times and speed.

So what have people done? Tbh i'm not that used to tuning. I understand how engine work fairly well, i understand what boost is, compressor surge, i know how to tell when a turbos had it etc, but actually gaining power isn't something i've particularlytried. Well, i had a white 940 Turbo with a manual boost controller to up the boost a bit but thats literally as far as it got.

Now i remember thinking the stock turbo was absolutely tiny, so i'm wondering whether a bigger turbo would do? I've been looking at T3/T4 hybrids and some bigger intercoolers. Naturally as i'm 18 i've been looking into dump valves as well but if i'm 100% honest, this thing sound gorgeous without one:

So, what can i do when it comes to upping performance?

Althou if u realy tune it your gonna chew up alot off petrol at the mo am getting about 30 miles outta a £5 (am a auto)

Hi,

Why start with the 2.0 when 2.3 blocks can be had pretty cheap?
If you are going to go mad with the turbo, pinch one off a bus!
Megga squirt ECU and configuration and you're off to the 400 bhp mark!

Look for topics by 1stRaven and his 700R or maybe grizlyadams and his Komfortwaggon project.

What you get will very much depend on what you spend (and are prepared to spend) on the car and the time you want to allocate.

Des. . .

I honestly don't know. I mean 300bhp is doubling the stock power and with the guy i know around the corner won't be too hard to reach Bearing in mind i'll possibly be stripping it too, so it won't need loads to shift!

Will look for the threads now
