Default Replacement key

Hello I have just joined the forum and wondered if anyone could help me please.

I have an '07 V50 SE D and unfortunately have misplaced on of our two keys. I have spoken to the dealer I purchased the car from and was shocked to learn that a replacement key would cost around £230!

I would be most grateful if anyone could suggest where I would be able to purchase a new key from at a more reasonable price.

Many thanks,

Bob Williams.

sorry to say this but it is a main dealer only. thats why the security is quite good to these cars as no one else can make and program a key.

Thanks very much for your quick response gazbak1 - maybe I'll try another dealer I suppose there's a chance I might get it a bit cheaper!

Thanks again,

Bob.

After ringing round I eventually found a main dealer outside my immediate area who was prepared to provide me with a new key for £145. When I spoke to my original dealer about the difference between this and the price he had quoted he checked back and said that when he'd put his price together someone he'd dealt with had estimated his element of the price and the actual figure was considerably less. To cut a long story short he agreed to do it for £145!!...... Just goes to show ..............thanks guy's.
