Crankcase Ventilation
Hi,
Does anybody know what exactly the crankcase ventilation comprises? The car is a '99 V40 T4 with 90k miles. According to Volvo's service checklist it should be done at 60k, then every 30k. From what I've been able to gather so far it starts off at an oil seperator which has a hose going up to the head. There is also a smaller hose comming from the air intake ducting (just after the filter) going to the inlet manifold. A second hose comes from the inlet manifold and goes to the back of the engine by the turbo. Is there more to the system? ....and what i'd really like to know is how do you go about cleaning it and where? Thanks & regards, Colin. |
