S40 1.8 missfire
Hi all, ive recently bought a 1998 S40 1.8 se. Its been fully serviced with new plugs and fully synthetic oil, however its missfiring badly from 1000 - 2500 rpm when accelerating. Ive replaced the plugs again and tested the HT leads, all are fine. Has anyone else experienced this with their S40? I need it sorting quick because its ruining my experience with an otherwise excellent car.
Thanks! |

RE: S40 1.8 missfire
Just a thought, you have got the right plugs for the car.
There are the two 1.8 engines and the plugs are different. Andrew S40 GDi |

RE: S40 1.8 missfire
Yeah, sorry may be i should have been more specific, my 1.8 is the B4184S 1731cc (not GDI or the variable valve timming engine). I work at an independant Volvo specialist (part time to fund university)and they are suggesting that its something in nothing, which may be the case, but its really annoying when you driving slowly around town. Its fine if you driving like the Stig of Top Gear though! Its going in tommorow to see if they can sort it. Just thouht id see if anyone else has had the same problem so i can point the mechanics in the right direction.
Thanks, James. |
