If it makes you feel any better my S80 has done exactly the same. I guess you could disconnect one and operate the switch then replug. Might work but has anyone got an easier solution.
It looks like it is winking at people

Cheers,

Ok, I stopped being lazy and used the search. Found this info. Just off to try it now.

The S80 passenger compartment fuse box should be behind the panel in right hand side of the dashboard when you open the driver's door.
If you look at the fuse diagram you should see 3 fuses that control the door mirrors: Left door, Right door, Both doors(?).

So to reset, make sure mirrors are in their "crazy" positions.
Pull out a fuse for either the Right or Left side.
Turn on the ignition and press the mirror powerfold button.
Turn off ignition then pull out the main fuse controlling both mirrors then reinsert.
Reinsert fuse for Right/Left removed earlier.
Turn on ignition and check.
Hopefully, job done.
