Catalytic converters
My S40 T4 (1999) cat sounds like a tin of frozen peas. In addition to this the car is missing badly, frequently returning to smooth running but not for any reasonable length of time. The ems light is not illuminated . I wonder if knowledge is available concerning the cost of such an item (cat) and the possibility of a replacement returning my superb vehicle back to its former high performance?
Any comments very welcome . Regards to all in this informative forum. Chris |

RE: Catalytic converters
Had the "cat" on my S40 collapse at around 48K miles. Cost to replace with Volvo OEM cat - in the region of £340, not cheap! Car ran a lot better though.

RE: Catalytic converters
Ran noisily but i did not notice any significient loss of power or lumpy running. No engine management lights came on.
