Missing my 240dl wagons 1974, 79, 84
Well, I am looking for a 240 wagon like ones I used to have only in better condition. My first one was a 1974 245dl wagon Dark Hunter Green with Peanut butter (tan) vinyl interior. I was in college at the time and blew the head gasket. I was told by all the "responsible adults" at the time that it was not worth the cost of repairing it. I sold it to a tow company or junk man for $300. I have lived to regret it and even after 20 yrs I still miss it and would love to have the same or similar again. My spouse just does not understand.
I would consider a newer model, but only 240 not a 740 or 850 etc. I suppose my hope is that there is someone out there that has one but no longer has the space to keep it or maybe they are retiring their drivers license or something of that nature. I do not mind a little minor work, cleaning etc, but I am not really looking for a "project" car because my life is too busy. I do need hunter green as it is my business colour, but the year and trans are flexible. 240DL WAGON 74-93, hunter green, working or easily repairable A/C, manual transmission is fine, roof rack and/or trailer hitch a plus. I am in NC and it just makes sense to get one close by...searched on craigslist but no real luck. Please email contacts if you know of a suitable wagon within 5 hours drive of Raleigh NC. I would love it and take care of it and keep it up till I am not driving anymore. |
