Default Wiring loom meltdown

Hi All,

I've got a '91 940 D24T auto, that runs well. Smokes a bit, but runs well all the same..........

Or at least it did until this morning.

Just left for work this morning, got to the end of the road and moved the drivers seat back a bit. After a while I could smell burning plastic! Oh ****......clouds of that thick white smoke pouring out from behind the dash. It got so bad I had to hang out of the window to pull over.

It turns out as I moved the seat back it cut through one of the seat feeds, short circuiting it. It then melted up behind the clocks...one big sticky mess. Lots of wires fused together. No wonder everything came on all at once!!

I'm in two mind whether to scrap it or find a loom.

I know the diesel loom is peculiar to the diesel, but I've rung round this morning and no-one has one. Could I adapt a petrol engined version?

Cheers,

Rich
