New Calipers / paint?
Ive just got a new V70 D5 and I think it looks great but theres one thing that I think lets it down is the stock calipers that you can see through the wheels.
The wheels look great but theres a load of space there and the calipers are already starting to look grubby. http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...01/upload2.jpg The options are swap them for branded models or caliper paint. Any thoughts on this (dont suggest the stick on brembo covers ) Thanks Richard |

I reckon they look OK to me - I also find they have more than enough stopping power for an effective emergency stop!!
Heico do some lovely blue AP Racing calipers - I just don't have the budget for that and a season of racing |

With that colour car I would use a nice red caliper paint.

Fire Engine Red would be my choice
Im loathed to paint them (with the wheel off but the caliper still on the car) as Im sure Id make a dog of them |

I agree, standard look fine. Painting should be left for something which is different to standard. I find the brakes a bit iffy - particularly when pressed hard.. on a slightly damp road there is loads of ABS cutting in.. when it is dry the hazard warning flashes..? and it's not like you are hanging from your seatbelt when that happens.

Wire brush, brake cleaner and hamerite, works a treat
I just used gold hamerite paint to put them back to how they looked when they left the factory, Don't use the spray paint though, use paint and a brush it does alot neater job

I think it depends on which way you want to go:
If you want to make the car look a bit more sporty, then Red would look perfect on a black car. If you want the car to retain a bit of class, then plain Black would be better suited.
