Follow this link to the vehicle licencing website vehicle check page and use the vehicle enquiry button. Pop your reg in and the make and it will tell you how much CO your car throws out. It will also give you the current price for road fund licence for your vehicle. My v70 D5 (manual) is 171g/km and is £170. My dad's D5 XC70 (geartronic) is 226g/km and is now £400!!!:

Ditto. looks like it goes to £270 eventually.................of course "eventuallY" is not the same as "ultimately". I think just about any government will continue to up VED simply because it's easy and they can.

By 2010 I hope I will have moved onto something else so the VED price will be an irrelevance. Maybe that's what they want me to think and I've fallen for their mind games...

I wonder what a 535d or A6 3.0Tdi Quattro are- I hate to look! lol

I here you!....I dislike modern britain for a whole list of things, and tax is in the top 5,.....like yourself I work my arse off so does the missus I have just bought a 2nd hand V70 R and f*ck me its a beast but is costly to insure, run , and tax, but if things got so tight although a nice car, I would sell it and get a cheaper alternative! I know people who have brand new M5's and RS4's etc and they dont worry about a few hundred quid a year!.....must be nice, all I am saying is These "big" cars are optional just a ride!.

Got to agree, we pay tax before we get our earnings, then for everything else we buy, and then again to get to work, etc, etc, etc

Think I`ll get a foreign passport, then you can get housed, clothed, and fed by Britain, and pay no road tax or insurance on your imported car, Excellent!!!

Rip off UK indeed! This country was once called Great Britain!!
