Default V40 1.9d HOLDING BACK

Just collected my V40 Diesel from auction 03 reg and on the motorway it appears to hold back (not badly),and sometimes had erratic idle for a few seconds .
Also it appears some lowlife has removed the heater module below n/s/ footwell ,is this part a common problem as i have no fan speeds

Default resister

if you are refering to the resister, yes, it controls the fan speed, i think they are about £25.
