Default cloudy rear cluster?

been experimenting with a very faded rear light cluster ,wax although it improved it wasen't satisfactory however a coat of humbrol clear gloss varnish (the stuff used for airfix kits) applied sparingly with a finger seems to improve appearance far better!
how long it will last i have no idea but certainly at £1.99 a tin far cheaper then a replacement.
applying with a finger gives a very fine coat which dries in minutes and ofcourse no brush marks.
it doesen't remove the sun related breakdown of the plastics surface (should have tried very fine sandpaper) but as you can see its now red again rather than tinged pink
and if it only lasts a few months you will end up no worse than you started at ,obviously any varnish can be removed (hopefully) once it starts flaking and another coat applied ,that little tin should last for years.
whilst not for showroom finish types those that use their cars in their daily lives may find it worth posting.

now to find some off the shelf unction that improves the rest of the car
