Default Hi guys new to forum

Hi guys and gals

New to the forum and just wanted to say hello I have just bought (today) a 2016 xc90 d5 momentum
It has just been run in at 155k but from what i can tell is in great condition with one owner and full volvo history
However can anyone tell me if the gear box has a recommended oil service ive just seen on here about a gearbox service on a s80 being advised at 75k and wasn’t sure if its the same on the xc
Id be grateful for any advice on the subject
Thanks
Antony

If you mean an auto box volvo say change the Auto gearbox oil every other service if the car is used for towing or taxi work or other arduous tasks. A reasonable change period for normal use would be around every 72000 miles from my professional experience.

I had a D5 in a XC70, don't know if it's the same engine but it is worth checking the Auxiliary belt and pulley. When my went it destroyed the top end of the engine and I was told that it was a design fault with the D5. Fortunately, after some argument, the extended warranty covered the repair costs. Whatever the mileage recommendation is from Volvo, I would halve it to be safe.

Thanks guys n gals

I am a mechanic by trade and have been for over 30 years however i work in a german car specialist and primarily work on Porsche BMW and audis so im not really up on the volvo however the mrs wanted one and to be fair so far its impressed me
I dont have access to the likes of autodata any more so am struggling to find out what the intervals are
Dose the gear box have a filter or is it just an oil fed system and also does it have any type of haldex unit to be services ?
Also thanks for the heads up on the aux belt i intend to give it the once over this weekend as its going to do a family run to disneyland next month so need to see if she is ship shape for that
As for the towing it will be towing but only a small trailer to be fair the family weights more than the trailer so it wont be working hard while its towing as the kids dont really come with us when were working
Again thanks for the help
