My V40 2014 R design has developed a squeal when turning at full lock to the right. The noise appears to come from the near side at the front. I’ve had it in to my local mechanics for a general check and he couldn’t see anything wrong but the noise wasn’t there when he drove it yesterday typically! Today it’s worse in the heat. Has anyone any ideas what this could be? It sounds like squeaky/groaning mountain bike brakes.

Check the level of the fluid in the power steering reservoir (if it has one).
Ball joints can also make a squeaking noise if worn, as can top mounts on the shocks.
