Default Clear Adhesive Protectors S70

My 2000 S70 has these factory(?) clear adhesive protectors on both sides on the lower part of the car, between the front of each rear tire and the back edge of each rear door. I assume they are there to protect against stone chips. The problem is, one of them has developed some kind of "mold" underneath and looks awful. Not rust, it's mold. I have the same thing on the door sills of my 1998 & 1999 C70 doors sills...clear protector, but mold has developed underneath. Anyone know what these are called, how to remove them (steam?) and if anyone offers replacements? Thanks!

GENTLE heat with a hairdryer will remove them. Buy some 3M Helicopter Tape - you can buy it by the metre on the net - cut to size and apply. I replaced the protectors on my C70 sills and a very easy perfect factory original looking result.
