Do you get a message on the dash saying 'Parking Sensor Service Required'?

I'm currently dealing with the same problem on my '06 V70. The previous owner had the parking sensors uninstalled in VIDA to get rid of the error message. I had the software reinstalled & the error is back - I think the car may have the incorrect parking assist module (PAM) fitted, it's dated 2018 so def not the original.
Now I'm waiting for delivery of a replacement module. The fault logged is no comms between REM and PAM. (Parking sensor service required REM-DD10 LIN communication)

Default Parking Sensors Continuous Tone when reversing

2005 Volvo V70 2L t.

The sensors read as "ok" on the Autel Code reader.
The car itself does not flag any issues.
But when reversing I only get a continuous tone.

It's an old Volvo, I've had it 15 years, the sensors are intermittent usually not working after long periods of heavy rain. But normally they work in the summer and they don't give the continuous tone.

Any ideas given the sensors read as "ok" and there is no error on the control unit?

I occasionally get the continuous tone after heavy rain or if I forget and turn the hosepipe on them when washing the car. So far, drying them off, giving them a squirt of WD40 and a rub with a cloth gets them back to normal. Until the next time.

Or, the front sensors beep when the headlight washers activate because the dribbles of water falls onto them.
