v60
Help required PLEASE. 2020 V60. Noise heard from n/s/r wheel area over rough ground at slow speed. Not shocker or top mount as I have swapped side to side. Not n/s/r drop link as it has been replaced. I can't see any fault with subframe mts. Wheel changed to front and torqued to 106lb/ft.Dealer road tested heard noise but can't say for certain what the noise might be. |

"Noise" is a big vague... what type of noise? Clunking, banging, metal on metal, squeaking?
Maybe you could get someone else to drive the vehicle and you record a video. Post the clip here.

This noise I hear is a 'clunk/rattle'. Only heard at low speed down pothole type road surfaces, not over sleeping policemen. The dealer changed the nsr sh/abs,I changed the nsr drop link. I swapped sh/abs side to side all to result. I am considering it may be the front bush in the rear sub frame,as the knock seems to be in that area but can't be sure. It's defo not inside as I have stripped panels and trims etc out and it remains. Are sub frame bushes prone to noise? 54000miles. Any ideas?

I had this exact issue on a V70.
It was the bottom ball joint. The mechanic who changed it in the end was the MOT tester who passed the car only a month before. He said there was zero movement in it on the car under test conditions so a flawless pass yet when the lower arm was off the car there was movement on the bench. Ball joint on the V70 (a Mondeo lower arm) was part of the arm. Not sure how they do it on the later SPA cars but it could well be a similar design.

Check your caliper guide pin sleevings. Worn out ones will make play which in return slaps your caliper up and down on bumps. Clank claccaty clank.
Regards Slaps
