If you are wanting to further check the car is indeed a 1963 early production Swedish "S" model, check the inner wing plate under the bonnet showing body "Pressed Steel".
If you are not familiar with this plate set in the wing, let me know. I have a 1964 built regular coupe. |

I have looked on the register database and the extra photos there make the engine bay look correct for an early S car.

Convertible
Hello Andy,
the whole structure has been strengthened inside and underneath. The body is very rigid. It makes a very professional impression. Regards Andreas |

Convertible
Hello Andy,
it was not built by the mechanic. According to MTM the mechanic bought the car already as a convertible. Regards Andreas |

Interesting. I'll see if I can find out any more about it. Don't hold your breath though!

Hi Andreas,
Just looked through my old messages, apparently it was built by a chap named Laurie Sullivan, who worked for Mike Lawrence at Cumbers Garage in Brixham. No more details I'm afraid Good luck with it, you'll have a lovely car when it's finished. Regards, Andy |

1800 convertible
Hi Andreas - I've only just read your post and I comment as follows:- There's a lot of nonsense talked about the black magic used to make a convertible from an 1800 - the mumbo jumbo concerning the sills in particular. As the owner and converter of the best example in the UK I can say that any conversion which follows sound engineering principles will be satisfactory. A photo of the underside of mine is attached. If you would like other photos of the car contact me by email: p1800convertible@outlook.com or look at p1800convertible on instagram.
