Decoding The VIN Number.
I'm confused. Somewhere in my travels around this site, somebody posted a breakdown of what the numbers and letters of the VIN actually mean. Mind doesn't seem to conform or correspond to the answer posted.
My VIN is as follows: YV1AX4726E2244840 Anyone out there with any insight? |

Hi Jim your VIN does look different!maybe the vin is different over in your country? Mine is so much different:YV1245277N1******
YV1=Manufacturer code. 245= 200 series, four cylinder, five door. 27= Engine type.B200FT. 7= gearbox. AW 70/71. N= Model year. 1992. 1= Country of origin. Sweden. ******= unique chassis number. Well that's mine but I can't work yours out at all. The AX4 part is wierd. Regards Brian. |

Vin
AX designation in the VIN is USA and Canada only and signifies A = model only and X (depending on year) door and seat belt configuration?????
It's an 'over the pond' thing! Paul.

Doesn't mention the B200 and B230 engines [mine's a '27', B200F].
The VLVworld list includes some, but not their VIN designations. Maybe a Moderator could update the VIN Decoder? (Here's hoping.) |
