Default 240 Rear Wheel Arches

My rear wheel arches are in pretty good shape - so i'd like to keep them that way!

Does anyone know of any rear wheel arch liners for sale? If not, any advice as to how to keep them healthy, other than lathering the area in waxoyl?

I'd be interested in this as well. I know there used to be a company that made some rear arch liners for the 240 (the company name eludes me), but by the time i found them all the links were dead ends, so i think they have long since stopped production.

If anyone knows of any i would like to know.

Othen bought a pair of arch liners off of me from a 940 I broke and he got them to fit by heating them up and massaging them in to shape.

Yes Luke, that worked okay. The 940 liners are about the same size, but a but flatter in the middle. A bit of cutting and the hot air gun worked; if you search the RB thread there will be a section on how I did it.

Thanks for linking to the post. That came out well from the pictures, and seems like a very good alternative considering there appears to be no 'new' option.

From my experience I'd say that is correct. I think there had been a company (perhaps in Finland - I may have misremembered that) which had manufactured batches of liners in the past, but none were available to buy new.

If I recall I paid Luke a tenner each for the 940 liners, and that was the only real cost (except for a few self tappers, a smear of silicone sealant and a few hours of my own time). I thought that worthwhile, and fitted in perfectly with the RB project's ethos. The 940 was produced until 1998, so there will be plenty of rusty and crashed 25-35 year old motorcars with little value being broken; it should be possible to find some liners easily and cheaply. Perhaps look in the 900 series section of this excellent forum?

Good fortune .

Some details in this post- if not already viewed https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showp...postcount=1728

Not sure if these are being made any longer by the company listed:~

Still in my car and one of the best things done to date, they give "full" coverage.
With the addition of a wax treatment even better.
Bob.

Interesting, not seen arch liners in what appears to be metal before.

Has anyone fitted these or know of someone who has, to shed a little more light on them.

They have no pictures for the 240 rears.
