What Sim?

Hi

My vodafone sim expires soon and it seems volvo no longer offer these complimentary sims. Bummer as I like free but I won't miss the merry-go-round set-up.

Can anyone recommend a replacement that is:

1: plug n play
2: min 30gb/per year
4: works in europe
3: cheap

I would first try asking Vodafone internetinthecar directly, especially if you still leave credit left on it for a other free trial or your trial to be extended.

Second, go to your local dealer and try your luck, see if they have any spares SIMs, I have three in a bag ready to activate in coming years when mine expires because I got some this way 🙂

Vodafone extended my trial on my current one too, so you can be clever with this if it works.

Lastly if you do get a cheeky spare, don't try to activate a spare you are given in your phone, they lock to the IMEI of the first device they are used in, so use the process when the SIM is inserted into the car modem only.

Volvo supplies Vodafone 100GB p-sim card if you do annual service with them completely for free

As recent as April too, but I had to ask for it. As the 'service manager' was convinced my car didnt require one.

rhd... Thanks for the suggestion - emailed them yesterday and have had a response saying they are looking into it. Fingers crossed they will extend my current trial.

Chudy/MCV... I already checked with my local dealer and was told no free sim. I've previously had two from them so have no reason not to believe them.

I had mine serviced in January and asked for the free SIM. I was told they don't work any more, so I asked them if I could have one to give it a try, which they were happy to do. It was a faff, but it worked. It's going in for some warranty work next month, I might take the opportunity to beg a couple more off them, since they don't work!

I did mine in March and get one free of charge.

Now I am looking for a saved website and isnt working anymore.

Maybe they did remove it this to make sure we have to pay for data

A greed have used the Three data sims, no hassle. Literally plug in and use.

Update... so I'd asked vodafone to extend my current free trial so I could use the remaing available data (approx 60GB). Unfortunately they cannot do this.

However, and to use their words, "as an exception we have activated for you 100GB for free for one year."

Result!
