Not sure if Faroe Islands would be covered under EU.
Yes I found this one, but Faroes being such a small country sometime they don’t even bother listing it and they are part of Kingdom of Denmark so I am not sure if they would list is as an independent country.

Did not realise Faroes were part of Denmark.
Thus as Vodafone have free roaming in Denmark then can't see a problem. Depends on coverage but as I said earlier it is frequently excellent in such remote locations.

Yes they mention the EU but the Faroe Islands, although part if Denmark, are not part of the EU. Having said that they rent out the latest AAOS Volvos on the island so there must be some 'deal' with the local Telecoms firms of which I believe there are 2 main ones.

It’s a bit complicated, because they are a self-governing territory, de facto independent, but as a tiny country, being part of a bigger entity/economy, it also has its perks

I’ve seen rental AAOS Volvo offers on the island, but not sure if they have working internet or not… I believe there is no official Volvo presence on the island.

Perhaps send the rental company an email and ask?
I notice on a Faroe Islands Car Rental website they offer Wifi at 13USD per day as an option. Of course you maybe best to hotspot your mobile.

I will be travelling with my own car and they might have a work around for the internet and I am sure they would tell they have the built in internet even if they were using a mifi router.

I will downlod the map section before boarding the ferry, and I will also purchase a data only prepaid sim for my mobile as well, then I could make a hotspot for the car as well.

Do Volvos with AAOS have space in the modem to add my personal sim card as it is in Sensus?

No, as far as I know they use eSIM, and works only with a SIM registered at Volvo.
