Root cause of high oil consumption in VEA diesel engines?

How is the dpf regenerated on this engine? with the adblue or with active post injection?

I would have thought that with the Injectors and Glow plugs removed, before putting them back, bring each cylinder in turn up to TDC and blow out the liquid with an air line should avoid over compression on start up.

I dont know if you can blow it out that way, only distribute it temporarly?
