Aftermarket Spring ride heights
I'm looking to refresh my 850r wagon and convert the rears to Bilstein TC.
I can't seem to get a definitive answer on how much drop I need from the aftermarket springs like H&R Eibach or the IPDs. I know the stock R springs have a drop really don't want much more than stock. thanks |

R tends to mean -20mm.
Most aftermarket brands are gonna give numbers based on stock regular car height, they usually don't differentiate that there is already a -20mm model. So wouldn't worry that getting a -40mm spring is going to be -60 on an R, as it would actually give just -20 over what you already have. Apex is what I think I currently have with Koni "activ" which are sort of good (already had one set replaced due to failed compression stroke). Heights are perfect, however rear a bit soft on the spring rate department for haulage. I think I got the heavier duty set as well. -40mm is what I believe they advertised and yeah it sits perfect height for me. |
