Are you aware of the built-in code reader on your car?
https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=122391 It might be a good start to check for codes. They don't always directly indicate where the problem is, but in my experience if the ECU is faulty it won't even read out the 000 code. |

Thanks for the reply, it's off to a local mechanic next week - hopefully it's just slipped its belt. Normally I'd do it myself, but it's stuck in a public parking place and my garage is full of Sunbeam Alpine and Matchless motorbike!
All best. Rog |

I recently had a “failure to proceed” moment. We went to Somerset from yorks in pouring rain. Rained all next day, didn’t need to use car. Next day, no start, not a whimper. Dried all leads, under cap, still no start. Took out plugs, warmed them up, back in quick, instant start. Not happened since, despite continuing rain, general dampness.

Water, Water
Just a quick update - I should have kept it simple, my fuel tank was rather full of water!
Once drained and dried out, it's back to starting on the button. According to my local Postman our local Tesco's garage has form for trying to sell water instead of petrol and the last thing I did was fill up with fuel! Thanks to everyone for the help ....... Rog Now back to the MOT list!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
