i see dinitrol is on the list of possible products tetrosyl is bitumen based and waxoyl is wax based be aware that some products completely cover with a thick coat and can make using tools on under body components difficult watch the lanoguard video on youtube its a prouduct often used on boat trailers and farm vehicle's

So is wax oil a "no no" then? That forms a thick rubber like coating when it dries.

The issue is the imported car in a UK winter. I know we have very mild winter's compared to places like Canada, but still, our roads are usually heavily salted. That will have an affect on a car that's never been susceptible to it.

waxoyl never really sets. when i said dont under seal i was referring to the thick black bitumen based types which dose set then cracks letting in water. and promotes rusting unseen behind the seeming like protection, with the more modern types like dinitrol and lanoguard which are much more viscous and penetrate into all the small cracks and crevices and nothing is hidden behind the coating

According to our club director, Bob, who contacted Volvo regarding his '09 V70 Japanese import, all models are treated prior to leaving the factory regardless of market or region.

Good to know.
Fluid film is also good stuff, so I've heard. South Main Auto uses it in the rust belt in New York and he swears by it.

I also fitted a genuine R-Design front suspension top brace from a V60. Again works well, though much redrafting of the filler honeycomb plate needed. There was also a Polestar brace made for V60s - that may well fit too - it has three mounting "arms" on each side, unlike the R-D one, which has one. The Polestar one is like the standard strut brace fitted to my wife's 2017 V40. It needs special double ended suspension top mount screws to fit it. Hardrace also make a V60 strut brace. Photos attached.
