Getting Dice to work! -Any thoughts appreciated.
Hi,
Apologies in advance, it’s another post about getting a DICE unit to work! I’ve looked for several hours online and cannot find a solution that works… Doesn’t help that a lot of the solutions are seemingly way too technical for my I.T knowledge! I’m pondering whether to take it all to an I.T shop and see if they can help if I can’t make any progress with it, anyway… I recently purchased a 2014 S60, I have somehow successfully downloaded and installed VIDA on a VM running Windows 10 VIDA. I bought a second-hand, I’m assured working dice from eBay. Led indicators seem to work as they should and the device is recognized on the VM, dice diagnostics & vida. However, when I try to connect via dice diagnostics to check the unit I get the error code “PassThruOpen() failed: 8". I can see in the VM Windows device manager that the dice unit shows up with a small warning triangle. – I’m guessing this is where the problem lies… The device is called “DiCE hardware”, with subfolder “DiCE – 206751@000000000000” with device status “The device cannot start. (Code 10) An invalid parameter was passed to a service or function”. Windows says the best driver software is installed. When in VIDA, to “test communication tool” I receive “communication error”. And when I attempt to read the car it says it receives no response from the vehicle. Any help will be much appreciated! Please see the below screenshots that don’t mean a hell of a lot to me, but might help. |
