Thanks for the info. My car is exhibiting the same symptoms as yours in that I have the start/stop warning when I start the car. I recently gave the car an overnight charge which solved the problem for about 3 weeks but the message has now returned. I've just checked but don't have the corrosion your car did so I'm wondering now whether to take it to the Volvo dealer or attempt to change the support battery myself (assuming I can buy one). I suppose the other question is whether something else is causing the Start/Stop message?

If I attempt my own battery change is it just a matter of unplugging the old battery and replacing it with a new one or is it more involved than that?
Buy this battery https://www.halfords.com/motoring/mo...RoCbC8QAvD_BwE

Just change it no need to do anything else. Very simple.

I did remove codes with .my diagnostic tool but you dont have to do this. Leave car overnight after replacing battery and should be ok. If not get car for longer drive

Thanks Chudy85 for the advice. Following my earlier post I've just used an Avometer without unplugging the battery and it reads 12.57v. Not sure if that's good enough or not but the Start/stop warning is still showing so something can't be right?

12.50V is optimum voltage on the Support Battery according to VIDA information that I was able to obtain.

My readings on battery cables were very low ~10V but when I checked it on Battery terminals voltage was close to 12.50V. Try to check the voltage on terminals and cables to find if readings are matching if you haven't done this already. In the case they are matching I will advise you to read Diagnostic trouble codes first and see what codes are stored in CEM, check if your car sees this battery through Diagnostic tool. What voltage CEM is registering? Then remove DTC and start the engine.

Trouble code that my car registered was B10A613 - General electrical failure of Support Battery Power Input. Circuit open

Sorry, I might be being a bit thick here but I don't fully understand your meaning when you distinguish between the battery cables and terminals. I get 12.57v when I touch the terminals on the battery. Where do I measure in respect of the cables?

I don't have access to anything which reads the error codes so I guess I'll need to go to a dealer if my battery tests aren't conclusive.

Thanks again

Thanks again, I've just checked again and now only getting 10.5v from the cables so looking like a new battery. The link you provided is for a motorcycle battery though?

And it doesn’t look like an AGM battery.

I would do this. If on the cables you have 10.5v but on support battery you get 12.5v it means connection is not right. Please do what i have done. Unscrew those 2 bolts from support battery and clean it using wire brush or sanding paper with high grade. If you get 12.5v on battery but 10.5v on cables is clear that your connection are like mine. Clean it. If you really will need battery replacement i will suggest you battery what i shared already. 50 quid and do the job

The battery is advertised as a motorcycle battery but it is the same type for the stop start battery, it is an AGM battery, the spec is in the link below but clean the terminals on your battery first and recheck voltage.

Morning All

Sorry to be a complete pain about this but I think I'm nearly there. This morning I completely removed the old battery from the car and measured 10.5v at the terminals. If the battery was in good shape I presume it would read 12v or something similar?? On this basis is it reasonably safe to assume that I need a new battery. The old one is dated 07/19.

Thanks again
