Bit of trim either stolen or fell off.
The car was missing the left side bumper trim since o bought it. Today i realized the right is missing too. Wither someone took it or fell off. Does anyone know the number of this part? And most importantly, does anyone have a pair that they are willing to sell and send it to me? Thanks, Salvador

The colour-coded bumpers from 1997 had these bits of trim. I think you'll find they are:
3518824 (right) 3518818 (left) just about still available, but they will come black and you will need to paint them. You are probably better off finding them on a breaker in your paint code. They just hook in and slide back to secure them. In my experience they are prone to coming loose, probably if someone knocks your bumper or you catch them while washing the car. If you don't spot that they are loose they will eventually fall off. There are similar trim pieces on the rear bumper. They also can come loose but are less inclined to fall off being bigger and wedged under another piece of trim. The only positive I have discovered for this configuration is that you can just about undo the hidden bolts holding the wing on by removing this piece of trim rather than the whole bumper. If you cannot find replacements and alternative might be to source matching front/rear earlier bumpers which didn't have these parts as separate trim and which were mostly all black. |

I was hoping any of you from the land of volvo abundance had a parts car that still had those. I've seen these parts for sale, but I thought they were old stock. Can you still get this from the dealership? I did not know the older bumpers would fit here though. Is it a bolt on change? Or is it more involved? Only 940s or 740s bumpers fit too?

I must admit I’ve never tried swapping bumpers between model years but I would assume they’d fit since the mounting hardware was the same across all model years. Don’t try 960 or 850 bumpers though. I’ve seen videos of people doing that mod and it looks really messy.

You could try Lakes Volvo, who have all sorts of old Volvos lying around. They sent me 940 wiper arms a few months ago when nobody else had them, and they posted to me in Ireland.
