Trying to talk to Clan. Have similar issues w/ 2010 xc 90. Intermittent no start - immobilizer mode along with brake ABS, bad low bulb. Dealer replaced keys along with new antenna ring. This was after battery replacement and new starter - not by dealer. This is when issue first started. After key/antenna ring replacement car worked for two weeks then today wouldn't start. Disconnected battery. Hooked up after 30. Started. Thinking of replacing 6 CAN terminals. Old terminals just pull out of connector housing and new ones are soldered to correct wires?? I saw locations pin numbers on your previous posts. Shrink wrap connections too?? This is for flat white rectangular CEM on passenger side? Green and brown connectors @ bottom and blue on top?? I'm loosing my mind with this issue. Also should I also clean CEM?

3yrs after I first posted my tales of woe and subsequently emery clothed and cleaned my CEM pins and it's never once given any further issues... which is quite surprising more do as lately it's been relegated to third car duties and thus at times will only be used once a week and is left sitting in cold, damp conditions. It just clocked over to 240,000 miles last week... it just seems utterly unwilling to give up.

Hi just wanted to let you know that you are not alone here, my V50 is a 2007 T5 AWD model with same issue, my conclusion that this is more like a design or manufacture defect, with my car the symptoms are very random but all CEM involved when scanning usin VIDA, showing only one or several together

1. Dashboard no display but car still running
2. wiper motor goes crazy running at highest speed, and not responsive to control lever
3. indicator flashing with no responsive to control lever
4. Engine performance reduced
5. Bliss error
6. central lock not respond neither to key remote or door panel buttons
7. Transmission error car shaking.
8. SRS module error
9. Steering Wheel Module error
10. ABS error DSTC system disabled
11. immobiliser error
12. no crank start
13. accelerate panel error
14. ambient temperature sensor error, shows like -35°C while real temperature is 15°C, and number jumping.

it feels like the car is possessed when the wiper goes crazy and all error code and red light on dashboard shows up, this can't be just CAN/LIN connection lose or corrosion, I have tried to clean up the pins several times and no signs of damage on the CEM circuit board when take out from fuse box, the symptom shows 6-8 months after unplug/cleaning the pins.

Logically that's not possible the symptoms caused by cable lose or corrosion happens so randomly, it's more like software level problem, like RAM/cache/buffer issue on computer, the CEM build up "electronic errors" overtime and shooting out when errors overflow, so every time when unplug call cables and disconnect battery from CEM, the errors reset and cleaned.

the hardware quality is reliable and solid but the software of the V50 is a real pain in the ass.
