Really simple aux in for original Volvo headunit
Hi all,
So here’s a useful / interesting hack- if you have an original Volvo headunit fitted still, the vast majority of those headunits have a connection on the back for an external amplifier. If you don’t have an external amplifier, the connector will have a blanking plug in it that just completes the circuit. Turns out you can fit an aux plug there really easily, so you can use your phone to play music through your headunit- just a simple lead with an 8pin din on one end and a plug for a standard 3.5mm headphone jack on the other, which I mounted in a dash switch blank. I just made one for a friend - the lead cost just over £10 to make, probably took 15mins to fit it. https://turbobricks.com/index.php?th...-input.261070/ Cheers |

Strangely enough, I was musing about this just the other week after my bluetooth cassette adapter ran flat again.
In my case I do have the external amplifier, but I don't have the separate graphic equaliser. the port for the EQ also uses a blanking plug to complete the circuit so feeding in the signal there could perhaps work in the same fashion. |
