How does the ETM/Throttle Body manage cold start?
I have an intermittent issue with cold start. Every so often when I start the car from cold, the cold start doesn't kick in. If I turn the car off and try again, it always kicks in the second time.
This happens probably once in every 20 starts. It's unaffected by the weather, and happens with the same frequency in Summer or Winter. How does the car manage cold start? As I understand it there isn't a cold start valve (2006 V70R), it's managed by the ETM. I've recently replaced the ETM trying to resolve another issue, but it's not made any difference. I wonder if the coolant temperature sensor might have a role, but before I throw any money at it, I'm keen to understand how the car decides a cold start routine is necessary, and what components play a part. I'd say you are in the wrong section. This is for V70 from model year 2008.
You usually get better answers if you post in the correct section. |
