Heating has stopped! Brrrrr!
Hi Volvo fans. I have recently bought a Xc90 (mainly to use for occasional towing) after owning several Toyota imports.
It has been faultless for 5 months but just as it has got to the cold weather the heating / blower has stopped. The fan dial on the panel shows the lights as you turn the dial but there is no blower. I've tried Auto and manual (ALL CONTROLS SEEM TO SHOW OK) I have seen some info saying broken thermistor but don't think that's the fault I have. Any advice greatly received. Thanks in advance. M |

The only way to know is to do your diagnostics.
Start with checking fuse 11C/1, the 30A fuse in position one of the passenger side fuse box (in the dashboard end). If that's intact, check that the fan blower motor is free to rotate. If so, move on to pulling the electrical connection to the fan (connector 'B', a 2-pin plug) from the blower control module and checking there's voltage across those pins when the blower fan is set to on. Failing the above, scan for any DTCs. Faults in the fan and blower control module won't be logged but if you see others relating to climate control (e.g. the temperature and flow control flap stepper motors), then you can suspect the climate control module itself.
