Default V70 98 high pressure diesel pump bleeding.

Hello
I recently changed my diesel pumps seals.
And now i got it all together and back on the car but i dont know if i am bleeding the diesel system right or not.
First i filled the system with diesel and then i used a vaccum cleaner to pull diesel from the top of the pump till i only saw small amount of bubbles coming (the bubbles never stopped coming for some reason) after that was done i loosened the diesel pipes on top of the injectors and crancked the engine.
Only a small amount of diesel came from one of the injectors after a lot of cranking and i dont know if i should just keep cranking or am i doing something wrong?

These pumps are self bleeding so no need to crack the unions at the injectors. Check you have sufficient fuel in the tank and make sure the connections at the fuel filter are tight. Later V70 fuel filter housings have a white nylon pre-heating valve which can crack during filter changes and create a vacuum leak in the fuel line. If you have the early type housing check the copper washers are creating a good/tight seal...replace if out of shape.

Did you lock the pump prior to removal? If you disturbed the locking screw during refurbishment you have probably lost the timing setting so you will need to set up the dynamic timing with a DTI gauge and adapter. Anything more than two degrees either way will prove impossible to start.
