2.0 Engine Timing Chain Replacement
I am curious if anyone has ever heard of a timing chain going on a car, especially our cars and the 2.0i engine?
I'm aware that unlike cambelts, chains do not need replacing at intervals. However, I was watching a video and it was mentioned that timing chains last the "life of the vehicle" the same way gearbox oil supposedly does. So is it wise to change the timing chain at some point to protect against the possibility of it going and causing catastrophic engine damage?
My engine is on 157k miles and going strong but I'm wondering if it's worth doing at some point?
