2015 v40 d4 turbo removal/replacement
Hi guys
Has anyone replaced the twin turbocharger on a d4 with the 2.0 vea engine?by the looks of it the official Volvo way is to remove the engine but I found a video on YouTube for an xc60 and the guy done it by removing the subframe.also if anyone has access to Vida that could check for me? Thanks |

Well managed to figure it out.In a nutshell:
1-remove the subframe including the steering rack 2-remove the dpf and o2 sensors. 3-remove the air filter housing, pipework, battery and battery tray 4-remove the passenger side engine mount 5-place a ratchet strap from the bottom engine mount to the passenger wheel and pull the engine forward and towards the passenger side. 6-remove all the turbo pipework, sensors and heatshield. 7-remove the manifold bolts and the turbo comes out from the bottom passenger side. |

Well this was a right pig of a job.took my time over 3 days but the turbo wasn’t the problem.it was the bottom passenger side exhaust stud that had come loose and was leaking oil into the cylinder/exhaust.there must be an oil passage behind that stud.
