Default Changing wheel size for winter tyres?

Hi everyone, new to the forums here.

Ive got an XC60 T8 hybrid with 20" wheels (255/45R20 8x20x52.5).

Ive got some 19" wheels I want to use for winter wheels (7,5x19x50,5).

My question is: if I put on 235/55R19 tyres which volvo have as approved tyre wheel combo for the car and engine will it just work or does it genuinely need some software update? Ive read conflicting things as to what is actually needed and even my dealership is unsure. Ive been on the willtheyfit calculator and the speedo difference is <0.5% so Im not concerned about that being a big deal. If anyones done this or has more experience with it Id really appreciate it.

I did it on mine, it just works.

I took the 265/35/22 down to your size 255/45/20 though I use 9x20 with a greater offset of 38.5 because I have the fender extensions

No software update required.

I go from 21s in the summer to 18s in the winter, no issues .

T8s have larger calipers on the front than their equivalent ICE models. You may need to check that the 19" wheels you have will clear the calipers.

As others have said, a software update isn't required.
