Unhappy Keyless Entry by another Manufacturer's FOB

Our 2019 XC60 was parked at our local supermarket and my wife saw it unlocked and the boot opened by another driver opening his own car. He remarked with surprise that he had also opened another car. This has happened on two previous occasions. We keep our remotes in Faraday pouches so we have to be close to the car to open it ourselves, it is unlikely to have been cloned. It seems then that the code for our car is used by another car maker. Can we change the code? We have bought a steering lock as a short-term measure.

That's crazy I would let volvo customer services know what happened and what type the other car was. security is supposed to be getting better and better not going back to the 1960s when a key was likely to fit some other car .

Never heard of a Volvo being opened by any other RF device whatsoever.

However, my dads 2002 V70 keyfob did used to set off my Auntie's doorbell.

Sounds like a good security system. He should install that doorbell at his home.
