Default Lost credit card through centre arm console

Hi,

I’ve got an Xc60 r-design but know the S60 is the same design. I “stupidly” put my credit card on top of the metalised cover of the arm level centre console. I placed it at the small tray end and it disappeared between the gap of the front cover and the bottom of the centre sensus console. If I open the small sliding cover and remove the rubber base of the cubby hole then I can remove 2 torx screws. Unfortunately this doesn’t let me lift the section out. Any idea how I might get access ?

Thanks

Denis

The side panels pull off the centre console, I don't know if that will help.

Default Tunnel console

Hi, I read the reply and I lost some parking coins inside the tunnel console and their rattling drives me insane. Your reply states (Mine XC60 Momentum Build 9/2017) pull of the side pannels of the console and the picture shows them removed. Is it easy, just stick a screwdriver in the seam and then pull them off? How do you put them back on? I am a complete amateur so I woud like some technical advice.1 Thanks. mathgeuyen@gmail.com

If it is the same as the XC90, just get your fingers under the edge of the bottom of the panel and tease the panel off. It is just on some metal clips which will release with a bit of a finger pull. Better than using a screwdriver which might damage the panel.

You will find it easier if you remove the floor mat and slide the passenger seat back all the way first.

Refitting is the reverse to removal. Just line up the clips and push back with the palm of your hand.

I did exactly the same with my car park access card in my V60. Side panel pulls off in the same way, took a really good tug starting at the bottom edge. You can see the two horizontal slots in the metalwork in the middle of the picture above where the clips on the panel engage. Aligning it to put it back was almost more difficult, take care and don’t force it.

As above, just fingers. Get them up from the bottom and pull away. The clips are about halfway up, one goes into that clear rectangular slot in the casting in the middle of the picture, another further back.
