Door not locking when closed
Hi there,
We have a V60 2019, and yesterday (bank holiday weekend, of course) found that the rear left hand door wouldn't lock shut. Even when the car was locked, the door could just be opened with no resistance at all. The latch mechanism would turn very easily (see screenshot attached, I've used a photo off the internet to show what I mean by the mechanism) but it just wouldn't lock. I presumed the issue was a broken actuator. In the evening I turned the latch all the way to the end point and felt some slight resistance (it stayed in that position) and then.. viola, it started working again. I think I tried the same thing earlier without success, but can't be entirely sure. So, we think the door is now working again and will try it a few times. But if it's still ok, what would you do? I don't really want to spend £500 or whatever a dealer would charge to replace the actuator, but then again to have this fail when away from home would be a nightmare, as there's no way to keep the door closed. Perhaps there's a better fix/suggestion if the root cause can be identified. Any ideas!? Thanks! |

Door Lock
I had a similar problem with the rear n/s passenger door, but mine wouldn't open.
Result was Lock failure due to water ingress £480.00 |

Next steps
I have discovered now that the door lock starts to work when the inside door handle is pulled once. The issue is definitely not 'fixed' but it's weird that pulling the inside handle seems to resolve it until next time issue appears. I thought the actuator had blown but that can't be case, and it seems to be electrical. Is there a master 'reset' or anything similar? Thanks!

Mine started like that then failed (locked) the replacement lock has a protective cover fitted, to prevent water ingress.

Cover
Would you mind taking a picture of the cover please? I might be able to fashion one! Thanks
