Default New Water Pump less than a year old!

So our V90 has visited our main dealer today for its first service, just under 18K and informed its p**sing out coolant and needs a new water pump!

No idea on the coolant loss to be honest, and stated the pump not due in till beginning of next month!

Due to go away with the caravan this weekend for a 9 days, advised not to tow with it!!

wow!

5% pads worn for 18k! clearly i don't drive it hard enough!

That really is a poor show, hardly the quality and reliability we are accustomed to. Hopefully they sort it for you without further issue. I assume as part of the repair your car will be fitted with a new timing belt kit as well? As this drives the pump and no dought the belt will be contaminated with coolant. Just a question you might want to ask.

On my level of thinking too, its a question i asked when i was informed, waiting for a response

On a side note, i presented them with a car that was immaculate, spent a few hours the day before on it, stunning inside and out, even with a sign from the rear view mirror "please do not clean"

So guess what, they washed it..hardly first world problems i know, but its the point!

On my previous car, it went in for some warranty work at Norwich Volvo with the express message 'do not clean' all over the service paperwork.

Came to collect the car the next day to find not only had they cleaned the car but looked like they had used a brillo pad to do it!! Scratches and paint swirls everywhere, even a deep scratch through the lacquer and deep into the paint that looked like a ring mark high on the drivers side rear quarter.
Obviously I was not best pleased as I keep my cars in good condition so complained to the Service manager who initially didnt want to do anything but ended up conceding (but not admitting to having done the damage) that because we asked for the car not to be cleaned and they cleaned it, we (and I quote here) 'had them over a barrel' and they grudgingly agreed to machine polish out the scratches and swirls.
They did a pretty decent job but didnt reapply the ceramic coating I had on the car (even though they said they had) but I was switching to my current car a couple of weeks later so never chased them for it.

I never like other people cleaning my car anyway so when I tell a dealership not to clean my car, I expect them to not clean it.

I stop at some traffic lights for 2 minutes each time and watch the local hand car wash doing all sorts of cringey things with sponges, wash leathers and industrial strength cleaners.

I have stopped 'wincing' now but I guess you wouldn't want to go back to complain to many of them...

Wow that is something else, glad they completed a paint correction for you, shame they did not go to the level of ceramic coating again, lucky my end that our car is white, so i can get away with a lot of issues with the paint, and to the untrained, not bothered eye, you would be none the wiser, but i know!

I will spend some time on rectifying the paint, and re applying the 2125 layers of wax i have applied, which no doubt was stripped with APC they used! The wheels have got to come off anyway, as its impossible to get them 100% clean behind the spokes, even with a multitude of clean wheel tools!
