We had a small discussion about that or "other" similar sensor here: https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=331276 Was the one on the picture so clean when you took it out, or did you clean it? Did you try it after cleaning? Any other symptoms like loss of power or...? Which car/engine?

Sensor cleaned and back: same problem. No lack of power. Just strong sound of whooooshhhhhhh when I let throttle.
D5 185hp, 2008 V70 Also no check engine light, nothing. I can order that sensor and give it try. But sensor is located near intercooler and whooooshhhhhhh is hearing from near turbo Also I saw now this Some loose screws. Tomorrow will my wife try with throttle while I'm listen in engine bay. But almost sure is coming from behind engine, where turbo is located. I will remove heat shield and see what is happening in turbo area when wife is giving throttle. Also thanks for tips 🍺 |

While standing you cannot hear it like driving. On video you can hear only whooosh. While driving is 5x louder and longer
https://youtube.com/shorts/aZO8K5Xx3DQ?feature=share Some screws are missing Not much space there. But I will see tomorrow |

Well, unfortunately there could be a significant difference between engine components / sensors on V70 D3 MY2013 136hp and yours D5 185hp, 2008 V70 And thank you for the info and the photos/video. Good luck!

Thanks. That on intercooler is probably what is on your on intake manifold. Probably same thing
I will order new. It's cheap but sounds is coming from behind the engine where turbo is. And why are few screws loose 😐 dont have time for this really |

Sounds like you've popped a vacuum or boost hose somewhere. I guess you could start by checking the turbo control valve and follow any hoses back to the turbo. Check all boost rubber hoses and plastic pipes for splits/cracks. You will probably need to raise the front of the car to gain proper access from below. Petrol variants would pop off the hose for the re-circulation valve and produce a whoosh noise as the pressure escaped to atmosphere. Try not to drive it hard in this condition as you could over boost and possibly bend something.
