Cheshire Section Visit to Manchester Transport Museum
Day out to the museum on Sunday 22nd January at 12.00pm.
As the birthplace of the industrial revolution, the North West has a fascinating industrial history, with Greater Manchester playing a key role in many industrial developments, including the expansion and improvement of transport services. From the world’s first passenger railway to one of the busiest UK light rail systems, Greater Manchester’s transport achievements have shaped transportation networks across the globe. Greater Manchester has much to be proud of in transport terms; we had the first purpose built canal in 1761, the first bus service in the UK in 1824, the world’s first public passenger carrying railway in 1830 and one of the first extensive tramway networks in Britain. Greater Manchester’s transport heritage can still be viewed today and is celebrated in a number of attractions across the region, taking visitors on a journey of discovery through the exciting depths of the North West’s transport past! Admission Prices are just £6 for adults and all under 16s if accompanied by adults go FREE. There is a cafe on site serving drinks and hot food. I suggest we get there for 12.00pm and parking is either on the main road outside of the museum or you can park in front of the big red doors at the Bus Deport Next Door. This should be a really interesting and hopefully enjoyable day out ( which is weather proofed as well). I look forward to meeting some of you at this first day out for the section. Any questions please feel free to ask away email me at sjpmarketing@aol.com Simon PS If you intend to come along please email me so that I know you are coming and I can look out for you. |

I strongly advise anyone considering it to just do it as it's a great day out at this venue, trains, planes and so much more, good luck with it Simon.
