Changed both headlights the other day (non xenon) all is fine apart from the n/s side light is dimmer than the other side when headlight switch is on 0 but when not on 0 both bulbs are fine and bright
One n/s rear bulb was out so changed it and now no n/s rear bulbs are in apart from reverse and brake Flashers/main beam won’t work at all no matter what setting the switch is on Auto electrician looking at it Monday How much more is this going to cost me now? M O Ts due next week as well |

If both the indicators and the high beam are not working then my first check would be the stalk switches , if a common point of failure and you can often just disassemble the switch and clean the contacts to get them working again.
look at this site https://www.swedespeed.com/threads/h...ch-lag.482841/ but I would not recommend using a power tool to clean the pcb simple contact cleaner will remove most of the dirt and old grease and a simple clean with a pence rubber will remove any stubbed dirt. |

Been told it’s probably the ECM as the stalk is showing as putting out power but it’s not reaching the bulb
Anyone else had this? Thinking of just installing a direct on off toggle switch Indicators and everything else work fine |

That will not be possible as the indicator relay is internal to the CEM, as suggested on your other thread to talk to volvo diagnostic about getting the CEM checked.
https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=329468 this is why having to threads on the same problem is never a good idea you just end up going round in circles ending up with the same suggestion on each thread. |

Theoretically anything is possible if you throw enough wiring, solder or crimps, switches, relays and hours of your life at it
but it would be a total bodge job and though yes you could power the lights with your own circuitry you'd more than likely throw up at the very least a main headlights fault on the dash, which would be pretty annoying to have there all the time and would probably at least raise some eyebrows at the MOT station, if not an actual fail Last edited by stuart bowes; Dec 16th, 2022 at 11:45. |
