Plastic cover for original 940 detachable towbar
Hi All
Does anyone know where I might get one of these? A secondhand cover would be fine. I've just picked up a complete original Volvo towbar assembly off Facebook Marketplace, but don't have the cover for when the detachable ball is not fitted. The towbar frame has a fair bit of surface corrosion, but is starting to clean up OK and it's solid. Cheers Graham

I would suspect (although I don't know) that a Volvo detatchable tow bar, especially the cover for a 940, could well be the same/similar as that on my early '98 V70 or an 850/other Volvo models. If not already done so I would broaden my search for the cap to other models as well.
I would also give FRF, Swansea, a call to see what they have to say on the subject. Bob. |

Sorry to hear your bar didn't come with the cover, my 940 fortunately came with one and has saved my shins virtually every day. Might be lucky enough if someone is scrapping one, but I wouldn't be surprised it might take you a while to find one. Worth just sending a PM to Luke / 360Beast, as he has had a few 940's and supplied me with a few used parts in the past. Failing that, then 3D scan of an original and 3D printing, one chap on the forum had made up 3D printed cup holder inserts to go inside the door pockets and to strengthen them to stop cracking. Heaven knows how much or if you have anyone local that has a cover to copy. Cheers Steve |
