part 3 has a tool for doing it up tight which you can do with other tools but I found it was on there too tight (link) although I found with mine I only used the outer part and never did quite work out what the point of the longer thin inner part was for because it doesn't connect to anything. counterhold with a torx socket down through the middle

then part 2 sits on top of that and stops the shock moving up and down inside the top mount (part 5)

you don't need massive amounts of power on that top nut though it's not holding spring pressure like it is with most other spring setups I've worked on

I just span it on with the rattle gun and had done with it. a decent tweak with a reasonable length bar is probably fine as well unless someone wants to quote a torque figure.

By that point, because of the spring being fitted and straining against the shock, the spindle wont want to turn much anyway but the rattle gun is perfect for things like that obviously, it just sort of spins the nut on the spot without the turning force as such

Took them apart today, nothing wrong with them.
Now to find issue with the rattling noise

Issue was "axle ping" loose driveshaft bolts

Thanks for letting us know; now we're all a bit wiser! Glad you found the problem.... I was going to suggest drop links as they can make a racket over the bumps.

there have been a few reports of drop links touching the aftermarket control arms causing suspension noises
