Grille Retaining Pin
I could use a couple of these grille retaining pins for my 1983 240 GLE (coffin nose):
They are Volvo part number 1202301, pattern parts are readily available in the USA at just a dollar or so, but I'm not keep on paying $40/item for shipping: https://www.ipdusa.com/products/5595...xoCNEsQAvD_BwE ... the usual UK outlets don't seem to have them. The motor has two of the pins, and they both still do their job, but they are a bit past their best. Does anyone have a couple spare, or know where I could get some? Alan

There are two Radiator fixing clips on eBay, they are like the ones on mine but maybe different from the “coffin noses “.

Do you mean this type (I know, this is a US ad): https://www.ebay.com/itm/324229726080 ...unfortunately that is not the right type (I had those on the RB), the ones on the Barge are like the photo in the post above.

No , the ones I have seen are on , Volvo 240 , vehicle used parts, a great chap I’ve bought stuff from. I thought yours may be different.

I have emailed your mate kommensiecake to see if he has any. :-) PS. I noticed one of the horns was not working today (as an idiot woman driver pulled out in front of me on a roundabout). I've bought a pair of horns from kommensiecake for a fiver plus a couple of quid postage.

Number 265896790823, useful chap, has some very reasonably priced stuff, even the minutiae for a quid!

Unfortunately these ones: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265896790...Bk9SR8D7-4TwYA ... are the wrong type for the coffin nose grille - I had that type in the RB. For some reason that type seems more common than these: which are what I need. It won't be a disaster if I can't find any, the two that are fitted still work but are getting a bit chewed up. I can probably find something else (like an upholstery clip) that would do the job. :-)

https://www.skandix.de/en/spare-part...grill/1017471/
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124953211...Bk9SR_Ke_I_wYA 2 part numbers , same part. Alternatively cut the two extra legs off , it'll work !

There seems to be no shortage of these parts - except in the UK - although I'm pretty sure there are plenty sitting on shelves, but it is a low value item and so not worth advertising. Skandix charges less that 2 EUR/item, but the shipping charge is 39 EUR, so that isn't really worth it. The US one is about $4/item, but the shipping would be around $40. I don't need the parts enough to make them worth nearly £50. The ones I have are still serviceable, in slow time I'll either find some here for a few pounds (new or second-hand) or I'll cut the additional legs off two of the black ones (as you suggest - I had not thought of that but I agree it will probably work). Many thanks, Alan

Problem Solved
The problem is solved. I had emailed Brookhouse Volvo, and much as I had expected these are stock items, but of low value so no one had ever taken the time to put them of the website. Simon (chap at Brookhouse Volvo) replied quickly and I've ordered a couple for about £7 delivered.
:-)
