Beep from dash in 2014 S60

So I just got a 2014 S60 (R Design Lux Nav D4), it has various safety features (BLIS/Lane assist/collision detection).

Now and again the I will get a beep from the dash (which lowers media volume).

It tends to be very common on a roundabout near my house. Something about this roundabout sets it off.

I assume it is one of the safety features, I've turned off Lane keep assist (as the car almost killed me with it on while driving down a single lane A road...). Have not yet tried turning off the other safety features. However when the beep occurs, there's nothing in the dash cluster to actually tell me what the beep was for. It seems counter-intuitive to give a warning beep but then not tell me what for.

Like I say, there's something on the roundabout near my house it doesn't like, perhaps a bad memory from a previous owner... Anyway... It's not a major issue but it's quite annoying as it takes me by surprise!

Any idea what it is? Or anything to look for on the dash that could be signifying the meaning behind it?

Notification of a speed camera that isn't there anymore ? The first couple of years I had my 2015 V60, it used to warn me of a speed camera on the A55 that was located at some temporary road works. The camera and road works were long gone. After a nav update, it lo longer did it.

What Graham said, turn your nav on and when you go to the roundabout see if there are any 'alerts' shown in the nav display?

maybe the PO added POI's to the nav system (cameras) and set it to beep but it is now out of date.

There is a speed camera after the roundabout actually...

Granted, it doesn't warn me of the speed camera coming the other direction unless it knows which side of the road the camera is aiming at... Which I find hard to believe.

I will try having the satnav on tonight and see if it is that

Not sure if applies to all but mine is the same sound as 'fasten your seat belts' bong on an aircraft

Almost certainly the speed camera warning and yes, in my experience it knows which side the camera is aiming at. Tends to do it maybe a couple of hundred metres or so before the camera, so you have ample time to check and adjust your speed as required. So if it bongs, the immediate cause might still be a little way ahead.

Thanks guys, did some testing on my drive home last night and yes I turned on the satnav and there was a warning if I'm going over the speed limit towards the speed camera.

I've turned it off so I think it's sorted! Strange it beeps at you even with the satnav off, there's nothing in the gauge cluster to actually tell you what the beep is!

It does it on my s60 without sat nav but not all the time.

Pretty sure mine only bongs a warning if I've got voice instructions enabled in the satnav
