DPF issues
I have a problem with my DPF readings.
I am monitoring the DPF with WiFi car scanner pro. When idling, the reading is sat at 1g but when driving it rises to 8g then when idling again is at 1g. Last night, it was at 12g idle then 18g driving. This quickly rose to 20+g and then it did a regen. The car has travelled 9 miles since the last regen and runs well in all scenarios. The EGR is operating correctly, rising to 100% under acceleration and during regen. I have discovered that when stationary and the revs are put up to 2500rpm, it starts to increase. When the car returns to idle, the DPF decreases. This evening I used VIDA to adapt all the relative parts, egr etc and this made no difference. No warning lights or faults logged in VIDA Any ideas folks 2009 Volvo V70 2.4d

whats the oil level like? a leaking turbo seal could put oil into the engine causeing more soot. dose your car smoke under hard acceleration ? also check the intercooler for any splits or bowing check all turbo pipes and connections

Thanks for replying Simmy.
There is no smoke during start up or acceleration. All is good there. The oil level isn't rising so that is good. But because it only does it when the revs are held at +2500 rpm and under load really does point to a boost issue.

a smoke test is what most garages do to find boost leaks a diy version can be made consult you tube for some pointers.

If the oil level is steady, its not smoking unduly, and its driving properly then Id put Vida away and stop worrying.

You have to monitor the dpf pressure. The grams should not move more than this. Sometimes on mine after hard accel after the toll it goes up by 2 or 3 grams, but come back to where it was before.
Your sensor must be out or the flexible lines. |

The ECU continually monitors for boost leaks. It will go into no boost mode if it detects disparity between an expected boost pressure and actual boost pressure. This is what mine did when I had a small leak from a boost pipe, to accompany the whistle.
