Turbo looses power after standing still for a while
Hi guys. I have 2004 Volvo S40 , 2.0 diesel. And it developed this little problem.
When i start my car, and drive, it all works fine. But once i have to stop and wait a little bit, for example on red lights, it looses power, turbo will not work. I can repeat this many times, only thing that helps is to restart the engine. And when i stop again, it happens again. Initially it happened rarely, but now its regular thing, every single time. I tried to check the turbo pipes, make them tight but it didnt help. My mechanic suggested maybe intercooler needs replacement, it seems a bit damaged by little rocks from road, normal stuff. Do you have some experience about this? Thanks |

I'd suggest checking out the vacuum pipes and then trying to switch out the TCVs for known working ones. It should be quite easy to fix when it's so reproducible.
